Get to Know Bobby
Meet Bobby Louviere!
Bobby Louviere has spent over 20 years in the construction and woodworking industries, combining craftsmanship, innovation, and a passion for learning. His journey is defined by a commitment to excellence, whether in drafting, building homes, crafting custom furniture, or now, as ICF Pool Specialist and providing technical support for BuildBlock ICFs (Insulated Concrete Forms).
Bobby’s career began in 1996 as a draftsman at RL Custom Design, Inc., where he worked until 2001 and then again from 2004 to 2008. During this time, he created construction plans for a variety of projects, including log homes, timber frames, and conventional structures. Working closely with architects and engineers, Bobby ensured that all structural and architectural elements were seamlessly integrated. He also produced detailed shop drawings for projects like Cabela’s stores, where every aspect of the timber frame and log home elements was meticulously planned.
In 2008, Bobby expanded his expertise by partnering with another contractor to build custom homes from the ground up. Managing construction documents, estimates, and material take-offs for various projects, Bobby’s ability to oversee every phase of construction, from framing to finish work, solidified his reputation as a skilled professional.
In 2012, Bobby took another leap and founded Brushbacks Woodshop, a custom woodworking business focused on creating unique furniture and cabinetry. Working closely with clients to bring their visions to life, Bobby’s attention to detail and craftsmanship are central to his work. While woodworking is his primary focus, Bobby continues to design construction plans for homes and buildings, bridging both industries with his broad skill set.
Now, as part of his expanding role in the construction world, Bobby will become BuildBlock’s ICF Pool Specialist as well as assist in providing technical support. As an expert in construction and building materials, Bobby is uniquely positioned to help builders and owners understand the benefits and application of BuildBlock ICFs for pools as well as standard construction. His deep knowledge of construction and hands-on experience with a variety of building systems makes him a valuable resource for clients seeking advice on building an ICF pool.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Bobby is deeply committed to his community. He serves as the President of his town’s baseball program and the Vice President of his valley’s board. He also coaches his son, Nolan, and daughter, Molly, in baseball, gymnastics, and soccer. The Louviere family enjoys outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and camping, and they grow a modest garden, preserving their harvest through canning and root cellar storage. Their greenhouse allows them to grow vegetables year-round, and Bobby’s dedication to sustainability extends to sourcing local meat, processing it himself, and making sausages and jerky.
Bobby’s personal and professional life is built on a foundation of craftsmanship, family, and community. Together with his wife, Ashley Louviere, and their children, he constructed their custom timber-framed hybrid home using ICF for the basement. This hands-on approach to building his own home reflects Bobby’s belief in creating things that last.
From his early days in construction to his woodworking business and now his ICF Pool Specialist and technical support roles with BuildBlock ICFs, Bobby Louviere’s career showcases his dedication to quality work, innovation, and helping others succeed. His journey is a testament to the power of blending skill, sustainability, and family values to create a lasting impact.
