Name, company, email address, phone number, mailing address, and project details (location, type, size, plans, and drawings) when you fill out a form, request a quote or take-off, ask for a distributor, register for training or an event, subscribe to email, or write or call us.
  • Order information. Billing and shipping addresses and order details. Card payments are handled by our payment processor. Card details are held in our payment processor’s secure vault. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Account information. For the ordering and training sites: login name, password (stored in protected form), and order or course history.
  • Collected automatically. IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, time on page, referring page, approximate location, and interactions such as clicks and scrolling. See Cookies and analytics.
  • Communications. Emails, call notes, text messages, and your replies to our emails. We log messages in our customer system.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. The site is for builders, designers, and owners.

2. How we use it

  • To answer your request, prepare quotes and material take-offs, process orders, and provide support and training.
  • To match you with a dealer, distributor, or installer when you ask (section 4).
  • To send you information about BuildBlock products, events, and training by email, and to keep our records.
  • To run, secure, and improve the site, prevent spam and fraud, and understand how visitors use it.
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and to enforce our terms.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar tools on this site:

  • Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows which pages are used. It sets cookies and sends your IP address and activity data to Google. Settings and opt-out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors click, scroll, and move through pages, including session replays, so we can find design problems. See privacy.microsoft.com.
  • Customer relationship system tracking runs on pages that contain our inquiry forms. It records which pages you view and which forms you open or submit, and can match a visit to a lead or contact record when you identify yourself on a form. We use it to follow up on inquiries.
  • Google reCAPTCHA checks that forms are submitted by a person. It collects device and browser data and is governed by Google’s privacy policy and terms.
  • Essential cookies keep the site, cart, and login working.
  • Embedded video. YouTube videos may set cookies when you play them [confirm which pages embed video].

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Some features may not work if you do. You can also use the opt-out links above.

We do not currently run advertising campaigns that use information from this site, and we do not use Meta or other social media advertising pixels. We do not sell personal information to data brokers or list vendors.

4. Who receives your information

  • Dealers, distributors, and installers. If you ask us to match you with one, or we refer you after an inquiry, we send them your name, contact details, and project information. They are independent businesses and use that information under their own policies.
  • Service providers who work for us under contract: website hosting, customer relationship management, email marketing, business email, analytics, spam protection, payment processing, order and accounting systems, e-commerce platform, and shipping carriers.
  • Legal and business. Authorities when the law requires it, and a buyer or successor if BuildBlock’s business is sold.

We do not sell your information to data brokers or list vendors.

5. Email

When you submit a form, we add your contact details to our customer relationship system and, if you are a prospect or customer, to our email marketing platform. We send automated campaigns about our products, training, and events. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we stop marketing email, and we may still send transactional messages such as order and support emails. You can also write to [email protected].

6. Text messages

BuildBlock does not send marketing or promotional text messages. We send text messages only (a) in reply to a text you sent us, or (b) when you ask us to contact you by text. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end texts and we will stop. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing.

7. Retention

We keep information as long as needed for the purpose collected and for legal and accounting needs. Leads and inquiries are kept in our customer relationship system, which holds about three years of leads migrated from our previous customer system. We have not set a deletion schedule for the current system. The previous system holds about 15 years of lead records. It is being retired, and its records have not been deleted. We add leads to our email marketing platform and remove contacts based on engagement: a contact who does not open four of our emails is archived and removed. Analytics reports that do not identify individuals are kept indefinitely. Data tied to a browser or device is kept only as long as our analytics and advertising tools keep it. Customer and order records are kept in our order and accounting system. That system does not allow records to be purged, so we keep them indefinitely. If a deletion request covers those records, we limit them to accounting, tax, warranty, and legal use and, where the system allows, replace identifying details. Paper records are stored for 7 years and then destroyed.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls, and email authentication. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

Everyone can: unsubscribe from marketing email, decline cookies, ask us what we hold about them, and ask us to correct or delete it. To make a request, email [email protected] or call 405-840-3386. We verify your identity before we act and respond within 45 days. If you are not satisfied, you may appeal by replying to our response, and you may contact your state attorney general.
